Well, we survived the holiday slam...everyone made out ridiculously well from the Jolly Old Fellow in the Red Suit, and we enjoyed good food and good laughs and good times with family.
We wish a Happy New Year to you and yours - stay safe out there!
Well, we're headed to Austin in the morning. First time to be there in a couple of years. We received a 2-night pass at any Hyatt hotel when we got our mortgage (thank you Administaff) and we're using it in Austin at the Hyatt on Town Lake.
We'll be visiting some friends and Emily's brother Jeff, and my brother Bob (aka Page, aka Uncle Spongebob) and sister Becky (in from Arizona). It should be a nice visit. We'll be there through Monday morning, then head back to H-Town and more vacation!
Emily is off all of next week, and I only work Wednesday, so that will be very nice.
Anyways, happy holidays to you all, and MERRY CHRISTMAS if we don't speak to you before then!
We had a nice weekend. Nothing special to speak of, but great weather made for lots of outdoor time with the kiddos.
Saturday was an eventful one for Ryan. In the morning he had his first basketball practice. That was an adventure, but he had fun. Later in the day the four of us walked up to our neighborhood park to see Santa. Ryan brought the list he had written out (surprisingly with only 5 items on it) and gave it to Santa, who was a very good sport.
All weekend he got to play outside a lot, and had a lot of fun with our neighbors. He and Lauren (neighbor's daughter) made some interesting dishes in an ez-bake-oven.
I hung some more Christmas lights, watched the Texans lose and got some much needed rest. Emily and Megan had good weekends as well, resting and shopping, mostly.
Here's to a good (quick) week before vacation starts!
