Blood Center Fire

This is where I work. Nobody was hurt, and my office area wasn't burned, just some smoke/soot damage. We lost all our mobile laptops and PDAs (well over $1 million in computer supplies alone) and a bunch of other critical supplies though, so it should be interesting to see what happens in the next few weeks.

Holiday Round-Up

Well, we survived the holiday slam...everyone made out ridiculously well from the Jolly Old Fellow in the Red Suit, and we enjoyed good food and good laughs and good times with family.

Austin or Bust!

Well, we're headed to Austin in the morning. First time to be there in a couple of years. We received a 2-night pass at any Hyatt hotel when we got our mortgage (thank you Administaff) and we're using it in Austin at the Hyatt on Town Lake.

We'll be visiting some friends and Emily's brother Jeff, and my brother Bob (aka Page, aka Uncle Spongebob) and sister Becky (in from Arizona). It should be a nice visit. We'll be there through Monday morning, then head back to H-Town and more vacation!

Emily is off all of next week, and I only work Wednesday, so that will be very nice.
